Vinayak is an engineer by qualification and teacher by passion. Since his college days, Vinayak has been teaching school children and wanted to be teacher. But, his parents had different ambitions for him and compelled him to get into engineering. Owing to parental pressure, Vinayak joined engineering at SDM College of Engineering & Technology, Dharwad. However, his passion towards teaching and education did not change. During his engineering, his parents Mr. Ravi & Mrs. Mallika realised that his heart lies in teaching and education. Thereafter, Vinayak has never looked back and his parents are his backbone.
Vinayak is a postgraduate in 'Leadership & Educational Change' from the 'National Institute of Education' Singapore and 'Teachers College' at Columbia University, New York. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in international education from 'Birmingham City University' UK and Indus Training & Research Institute, Bengaluru. As a firm believer in life-long learning, Vinayak completed an Executive Education Programme for School Leaders at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. His diverse educational qualifications around the world shapes his thinking and have nurtured him to be a school leader with a futuristic vision of leading much-needed changes in education.
Currently, Vinayak is the head of Bala Vinayaka Vidyaniketan (BVV) which is a CBSE school at Gadag. He is leading BVV to being and becoming a school of tomorrow with change initiatives that are futuristic and progressive. He has curated a K-10 social and emotional curriculum called 'Learning for Life' which is a unique programme at BVV based on USA's CASEL framework. He also heads the partnerships division and has been instrumental in collaborating with 'Bendemeer Primary School, Singapore' for International Student Exchange Programmes.
Vinayak is also the Secretary of the 'Hubli Dharwad North Karnataka Sahodaya' which is a cluster of CBSE schools in Hubli, Dharwad and Gadag districts. He leads the activities of the sahodaya along with the members of the executive committee. Vinayak loves to train teachers because he believes that through such trainings he can reach 1000s of children indirectly. Hence, he has been a teacher trainer ever since he started his career in education. Vinayak is also empanelled with CBSE COE, Bengaluru as a resource person and has trained 1000s of teachers in various modules.
Vinayak's research interest lies in 'Social & Emotional Learning', 'Organisational Development', 'Leadership', & 'Leading & Managing Change'. Beyond academic life, Vinayak enjoys gardening, listening to music, and watching meaningful movies.
